Detail found this former Women’s Refuge in Glasgow’s West End for our private clients who were looking for their new family home. After our clients secured the property we were employed as the Architects, Interior Designers and Project managers to facilitate a full range of services. The Grade B Listed building had been extensively altered from its original form including the loss of principle living spaces and ornate decoration. Our design sought to reinstate the general arrangement of the existing building whilst also brining a 21st century flare to the home. This included an impressive double height kitchen and dining area with a mezzanine lounge to the rear of the plan. The rest of the house includes a formal dining room with an integrated bar, formal front living room, utility room, five bedrooms, two family bathrooms, three ensuites, one WC, a games room, a basement gym, reinstatement of several gas fireplaces and refurbishment of all ornate cornices. Externally both front and rear elevations were fully refurbished and the roof overhauled with new natural slates. Now complete, this family home is a fine example of a reinstated town house in Glasgow West End.
