Whilst converting Grade A Listed Town Houses we recognised on historic maps that there had been previous mews houses laterally demolished to make way for car parking at the rear. Subsequently we designed four new build mews style houses in a modern vernacular. The mews elevation features traditional sandstone block with large zinc dormers while the rear elevation is more playful with white glazed brick. Double height lounge/ kitchen/ diner spaces are located at the top of each house to maximise light and outlook, this is further enhanced by pitched roofs with glazed skylights. Each house has, in addition to its own rear garden, its own external balcony terrace. Two of the houses feature internal garaging while the remaining two have allocated underground car parking in the adjacent building.
